PIA secures IATA safety audit registration renewal

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has successfully obtained renewal of International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration for the 12th consecutive time, securing international safety certification valid until September 11, 2028. According to a spokesperson for PIA, the national flag carrier successfully completed the Risk-Based IOSA audit, which assessed its compliance with internationally recognised aviation safety and operational standards. The comprehensive audit covered key operational areas, including flight operations, cabin operations, ground handling and cargo services, evaluating the airline’s adherence to established safety requirements. The IOSA programme is an internationally recognised evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of airlines. PIA described the 12th consecutive renewal as a significant milestone, reaffirming its commitment to continuous improvement in safety, security and operational performance.
