The displacement situation following conflict escalation in the West Coast of Yemen continues to evolve, therefore IOM Yemen’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is sharing a Flash Update on the emergency displacement of internally displaced (IDPs) in Yemen. From 1 to 15 September 2026, IOM Yemen DTM recorded the displacement of approximately 101, 208 individuals (approximately 16, 863 households1) making the cumulative figure recorded since the escalation began in June 2026 reach 104, 796 individuals (approximately 17, 461 households). The largest concentration of displaced people was reported in Ta’iz Governorate, hosting 63, 624 individuals (61%), followed by Lahj Governorate with 26, 364 individuals (25%). Additional displacement was recorded in Al Hodeidah with 8, 148 individuals (8%), Aden with 3, 570 individuals (3%), Abyan with 2, 532 individuals (2%), Hadramawt with 294 individuals (less than 1%), and Ma’rib with 264 individuals (less than 1%) during the reporting period.
