KARACHI: A house officer from Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) has secured first position in a public speaking challenge at the Dental Experience Expo & Summit 2026, turning a high-pressure one-minute speaking exercise into a notable achievement in dental communication. Dr. Iraj Shariq won the Public Speaking Challenge organised as part of the summit by Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD). The competition brought together participants from different dental colleges, with contestants required to demonstrate not only their knowledge of dentistry but also their ability to communicate ideas quickly and confidently. Just 60 seconds to prepare What made the challenge particularly demanding was its format. According to Dr. Iraj Shariq, participants were given only 60 seconds to think and prepare before delivering a one-minute speech on a dentistry-related topic assigned on the spot.
