Karachi likely to see rain from tomorrow

KARACHI: The metropolis is likely to see thunderstorms and light rain during September 14 to 16 as a monsoon weather system is gripping parts of Sindh, the Met Office said on Saturday. The Met Office said the monsoon low that was over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast now lies over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. It is likely to move westward. Under its influence: Dust-thunderstorm rain with a few moderate to isolated heavy falls is likely in Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan districts from Sunday evening to September 16, with occasional gaps. Similarly, district such as Sanghar, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Mityari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jamshoro may receive dust-thunderstorm rain of light to moderate intensity during September 14 to 16, with occasional gaps. Thunderstorms and light rain may occur in Karachi Division during September 14 to 16, with occasional gaps. On Saturday, Karachi’s daytime maximum temperature was recorded at 36. 3 Celsius with 56 percent humidity. Sunday is likely to experience hot and humid with maximum temperature of 35–37 Celsius and humidity at 70–80 percent, while weather on Monday is expected to remain the same with some chances of thunderstorms and light rain.
