LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) to closely monitor the quality and transparency of ongoing development projects in their respective areas. The MPAs from Sahiwal district had meeting with Chief Minister Punjab. They discussed various political and development-related matters in detail. Those who met the Chief Minister included Wilayat Shah, Qasim Nadeem, Arshad Malik, Nadeem Aslam Lodhi, Rana Riaz Ahmed and Muhammad Hanif. During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that 14 more electric buses would soon be provided in Sahiwal. She also directed the MPAs to keep a close watch on the quality and transparency of development projects underway in the city. The MPAs appreciated the Chief Minister’s efforts for public welfare and termed the beautification of Sahiwal city a remarkable and historic initiative. They also paid tribute to the Punjab government’s development projects in small and large cities as well as villages under the Punjab Development Project. The MPAs appreciated the initiative to establish 10 state-of-the-art Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence in Sahiwal Division and expressed gratitude for sewerage and drainage projects in Sahiwal and other cities. They said it was encouraging that, for the first time, special focus was being placed on addressing the genuine problems of the people. They termed the launch of electric buses in Sahiwal a commendable and exemplary initiative. They said electric buses were providing travel facilities to thousands of people in different areas of Sahiwal, including Arifwala Bypass, Yousafwala, Noor Shah, KFC Bypass, General Bus Stand to Kameer, Adda Sabeel and Bala Mor. The CM thanked the MPAs for their appreciation and said that development projects had now been taken beyond major cities to the village level. She said the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence would provide equal opportunities for children from both poor and affluent families.
