AJK officials visit PITB to explore areas of cooperation

LAHORE: A delegation of senior officers from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), led by AJK Secretary IT Muhammad Rashid Hanif, visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) here on Thursday. On this occasion, the AJK delegation was given a detailed briefing on the Punjab government’s IT and digital governance initiatives, digital delivery of public services, and the use of modern technology to enhance transparency and efficiency in government operations. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss potential areas of cooperation between PITB and AJK in the fields of information technology, digital governance and public service delivery. The meeting was chaired by PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif. PITB Additional Director Generals Kashif Farooq, Syed Nayyer Ali, Atif Hussain, Haroon Rasool Khokhar and Haseeb Chaudhry; Chief Information Security Officer Sajjad Ghani; Director Syed Ijlal Hussain; Joint Directors Ashfaq Tiwana and Mudassar Paracha; and other relevant officers were also present in the meeting. It was also briefed on key digital initiatives, including Maryam Ke Dastak, PITB Web Presence, PM Performance Dashboard and Development Monitoring, PayZen, e-Procurement, e-Biz and Transparent Government Operations. Various digital governance initiatives aimed at improving service delivery, monitoring government performance and facilitating citizens and businesses also came under discussion. Discussions also focused on AJK’s Prime Minister Complaint Cell, digital government services and service delivery, merit-based recruitment systems, and e-Library. The participants explored potential areas where PITB’s experience and technological expertise could support AJK’s digital transformation and public service delivery initiatives. The meeting further covered PITB’s social welfare and citizen-centric projects, including DPMIS, Bait-ul-Maal MIS, Shelter Home and Children Home Management, PRISM (Public and Private Hostel MIS), e-Learn Digital Content, Special Education Digital Content and Autism 360. In this regard, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said that there were vast opportunities for cooperation between Punjab and AJK in the fields of IT and e-Governance. He added that PITB was ready to extend all possible support by sharing its experience and technical expertise to facilitate digital transformation and improve public service delivery in AJK. The delegation was also given a comprehensive briefing on ‘Sum Up-100-Day Priority Projects and Way Forward’, highlighting key priority initiatives and the way forward for digital governance and technology-driven public sector transformation. Later, the delegation visited the PITB Data Centre, where it was briefed on data management, IT infrastructure and security systems.
