Zardari returns to Pakistan after private UK visit

President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to Pakistan after completing a private visit to Britain, the Presidency said on Thursday. The President’s Secretariat confirmed Zardari’s return in a post on social media platform X. Zardari had departed for Britain on August 27, marking his first visit to the country in around six years. He spent more than a week in London before returning to Pakistan. Before leaving for the airport, Zardari told Geo News that he was in good health. Asked about his stay in London, the president said he had a good time. The president declined to comment on Pakistan’s current political situation or the ongoing debate over the proposed creation of new provinces and administrative units. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Tipu Usman, saw Zardari off before his departure for the airport. He was accompanied on his return journey by his personal physician, Dr Asim Hussain. Sources said Zardari underwent several medical check-ups during his stay in Britain. He did not participate in political activities or hold formal political meetings during the visit. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari also visited their father in London. According to sources, Zardari met both of them daily during his stay.
