Sri Lanka National Dengue Control Unit: Weekly Dengue Update, Week 35 (24th – 30th August 2026)

DENGUE CASE REPORTING During the 35th week, 1296 suspected dengue cases were reported across 24 districts, compared to 1802 cases in the previous week, reflecting 28. 1% decrease. The Western Province accounted for 50. 9% of total cases, with the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) contributing 3. 5%, the rest of Colombo District 19. 3%, Gampaha District 20. 9%, and Kalutara District 7. 3%. Outside the Western Province, notable case contributions were reported from Kandy (11. 7%), Kegalle (5%), Ratnapura (4. 2%), Galle (4. 2%), Matara (3. 3%), Kurunegala (2. 9%), Puttalam (2. 9%), and Kalmunai (2. 4%).
