Tarbela Dam has reached its maximum water storage level amid a continued increase in inflows following recent monsoon rains and floodwater from upper districts, according to the dam administration. The water level at Tarbela Dam stood at 1, 550 feet on Saturday, reaching its full level and exhausting the available storage capacity. The dam administration said the dead level of Tarbela Dam was 1, 402 feet, while its maximum level was 1, 550 feet. It said water was being released according to the inflow into the reservoir. The inflow and outflow both stood at 188, 800 cusecs. Seventeen power-generation units were operational at the dam, producing 4, 888 megawatts of electricity, which is also the dam’s total generation capacity. The continued rise in water inflows has followed heavy monsoon rains and flood surges from upstream districts.
